Following the shift in liability since the inception of Chip & PIN in January 2005, the hospitality industry has experienced more problems and challenges than most with the new technology and working practices.
Delegates from a range of licensed retail businesses within the industry were given a valuable update on the latest developments in the run up 'PIN Day' on 14 February.

Throughout October and November 2004, the HCIMA hosted a series of seminars throughout the country to prepare hospitality businesses for the introduction of Chip & PIN.
The seminars held in Aberdeen, Birmingham, Effingham (Gatwick), London and Manchester proved to be a great success, providing delegates with the most up-to-date information and developments in Chip & PIN legislation, implementation, training and technology.
Expert speakers from IBM, Barclaycard and Kilrush Consultancy shared their expertise with delegates and answered their questions on issues specifically pertinent to the hospitality industry.
