Description

This logo was designed for an initiative into understanding and developing resources for the analysis of internal armed violence within India. The phase was in two parts, initial research and groundwork then building a community of scholars and writers to help develop an understanding of the situation within India.

The logo uses shapes and colours associated with India and avoids specific graphic imagery relating to violence in favour of a more abstract approach. The bottom area denotes the initial phase of the project (groundwork) with the secondary phase (development of a community). The combined shape is that of a torch or brazier which helps convery the notion of resulting enlightement from the research and understanding the project seeks to achieve.

To help with logo design I always supply a concept of the logo in-situ within a brochure. This helps the clients see how colour and structure work with the design and is a very useful tool.
