Description

The Sterling Group is an organisation which consists of research-led UK universities that share a commitment to international excellence in Engineering research and teaching.

This design was a revamp of an original logo (see bottom) which didn't work as a strong and identifiable mark. The redesign adopted Minion as the primary typeface and together with the blue and light yellow scheme created a corporate and established feel (the organisation often has dealings with Governments around the world).

The use of the Myriad typeface for the strapline helps provide a contemporary anchor.

The logo was supplied with a white container box which helps it stand out on dark backgrounds.
