Cover template
Created in 1889, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is the international organisation that brings together the representatives of parliaments of sovereign States. This cover (and rear) was commissioned by the organisation in order to standardise their reports with a consistent structure (a new report was used as a basis). The top and bottom strips were the only items from their previous reports which were required. A French version in blue was also created.

Game screen concepts
A slight departure from the usual with these set of concepts for a series of word-based games for the Sony PSP handheld console. I was provided with a very rough outline of what was required and subsequently created the above screens for three different products (Crossword Climber, Snakes and Letters and Word Wheel).
October 2007
Pull-up banners
Having recently designed their updated brochure, I was asked to create some banners for Hospitality Assured. These were designed to mimic the brochure and highlight two of the organisations who have benefitted from the Hospitality Assured accreditation.

Leaflet for enginneering group of universites
The Sterling Group consists of 24 research led institutions throughout the UK who seek to open channels of communication with like-minded educational establishments overseas. This leaflet was designed to help convey their message using the image of interlocking cogs to reinforce both the engineering aspect and the reinforce the partnership between universities here and abroad.

Logo and stationery
Property Investment Expertise are a Romanian property company based in the UK. The logo was developed from their brief which required the idea of 'property' pie be used. The pies used in Trivial Persuit formed the basis for the main graphic with an accent of red helping reinforce their pie element, the typography and its colour was used to instil confidence and stability (one of the most important factors for buyers).

Brochure for CBS Outdoor
CBS Outdoor is one of three global outdoor advertising companies and is a key component of the media and entertainment giant, CBS (they look after all of London Underground's advertising, for example).
This 32 page brochure sought to highlight how advertising intersects with 'consumers on the move'. The brochure was created at 12"x12" in order to maximise the impact of their range of outdoor advertising experiences and was printed on a silk stock with some spot varnishing on the people/vehicles for the cover.
August 2007
Brochure
This brochure was designed to promote the service excellence award 'Hospitality Assured'. Concentrating on the wide range of industries the standard can be implemented within, I chose photography ranging from seminar rooms, educational institutions, catering, leisure faciltiies and hotels to help reinforce its message.

National Implementation Website
This supporting webarea (within the main VERITC website) is a information heavy resource for information regarding National Implementation ('a process by which states take a variety of measures to bring their domestic law into conformity with their obligations under international law'). Funded by the UK and Dutch Governments, the site is targetted at worldwide organisations and governmental institutions.

Leaflets for display consultancy
These leaflets were designed to promote the fields of expertise of Hendy Consulting. From flat panel display technology to semiconductors and electronic materials these leaflets have their own distinctive colour scheme partnered with a consistent structure and layout.
At the clients request, these leaflets were constructed using Microsoft Word (so they could update it themselves) which isn't suitable for this type of work but I managed to get it to behave.
August 2007
Brochure for display consultancy
This is a brochure to promote Hendy Consulting, an organisation who specialise in providing advice and expertise in the areas of display and high end technologies.
The brochure uses an abstract representation of LEDs to denote both display and technology in an interesting and colourful way.
This brochure was also translated into Chinese which brought its own unique set of challenges.

Website for chinese business development company
Having developed promotional leaflet and business card for Chiray, a small website was also constructed to support the organisation. Chiray helps western businesses develop business relationships with Chinese organisations and vice versa.
The theme of bridging divides is used through the website which is shown via images of bridges on each page. This is also supported by less conceptual images such as business people and typical industries the organisation has helped.

Direct mail postcard for Livebookings
This direct mailer for Livebookings aims to entice restaurants to become part of its ever expanding network. The brief required a quirky and humourous approach. To this end I created a base concept and commissioned an illustrator to work up the artwork into a distinctive style.
July 2007
Management Qualifications Leaflet
Adding to the document hierarchy for the Institute of Hospitality's recently designed identity revamp, this text heavy publication highlights the management qualifications available via the Institute. Due to the fact that no imagery was required (these types of documents are generally presented in a fairly basic way), a design which fulfilled this need whilst maintaining stylistic links with the other image-led variants (see below) needed to be maintained. Additionally, a complex diagram needed to be simplified and made easier to understand.
July 2007
Education Membership Scheme leaflet
An updated leaflet for the Institute of Hospitality's Education Membership Scheme (which forms part of their recent rebranding). This six page a4 document uses a new image and combines with an application form.
May 2007

Word leaflet template for Sphynx Hospitality
Microsoft Word templates seem to be all the rage these days. This template for Sphynx Hospitality (a marketing organisations specifically for the hotel and hospitalty industry) is the second one in less than a month. The style takes it's cue from their forthcoming website (nothing to do with me). The client liked both concepts I created and wanted templates for both (this is just one of them).
April 2007
Word leaflet template for Livebookings
Livebookings, for whom I had just created a folder, required a set of flyer templates to promote their services (both portrait and landscape). They also wanted to create their own text using Microsoft Word and therefore I proposed using preprinted stationary (of the images and logo) so we could use bleed and keep the quality. I supplied a separate Word document with the text in place using its ability to create stylesheets (Word isn't too bad at rudimentary design challenges as it has a floating text box feature).
April 2007
Logo and updated literature for Institute of Hospitality
The HCIMA have changed their name to the Institute of Hospitality. Having created their brand identity in 2004, this namechange provided an opportunity to refine, update and improve upon what had gone before.
The project also required the redesign of their updated literature such as newsletters, forms and leaflets.

March 2007
Subscription advert
The HCIMA produces a quarterly magazine, Hospitality, and these two ads (half and quarter page) were created to help promote their subscription offer. I thought a rather quirky approach was required to add humour and point of difference (corporate shots just wouldn't have made much impact).
February 2007
Leaflet for HCIMA Education Membership Scheme
This brochure for the HCIMA's education programme (where it works closely with educational establishments) uses the metaphor of an apple (and picking the apple for attainment) to denote this subject.
